METHOD FOR PRODUCING AMIDE COMPOUND

PURPOSE:To effectively obtain an amide compound without deteriorating the activity of a nitrile hydratase by treating a nitrile compound with a microorganism capable of converting the nitrile compound into the corresponding amide compound or the treated product of the microorganism in the presence of a higher unsaturated fatty acid. CONSTITUTION:When a nitrile compound (e.g. acrylonitrile) is hydrolyzed to produce an acrylamide (e.g. acrylamide), the nitrile compound is treated with a microorganism having an ability to convert the nitrile compound into the corresponding amide compound [e.g. Rhizobium SP MCI 2646 strain (FERM BP-3953)] or the cell-treated product thereof in the presence of a 18-22C higher unsaturated fatty acid (e.g. oleic acid) or a salt thereof. Thereby, the objective amide compound can effectively biochemically be obtained from the nitrile compound without deteriorating the activity of an enzyme nitrile hydratase.
