PURPOSE:To sufficiently prevent leakage of ink due to unnecessary opening of a cutout of an elastic element at the time of no use state by bringing a wall of a nib side including the entire cutout of the element into close contact with a communicating porous member at a nib advanced position of the state that the cutout is closed. CONSTITUTION:A writing appliance of a valve structure comprises an ink containing chamber for containing ink without depending on a capillary force to reduce its volume as ink is consumed at a nib 7, and an elastic element 8 having a cutout 10 to be switched by an elastic deformation to the nib 7 so mounted as to longitudinally move in response to a writing pressure and opening the cutout 10 by retracting of the nib 7. The appliance also comprises a communicating porous material so interlocked as to be provided integrally with or separately from the nib 7 and to hold ink by capillary force at the rear of the nib 7, wherein a wall of the element 8 of the nib 7 side including the entire cutout 10 is brought into close contact with the porous material at an advanced position of the nib 7 in which the cutout 10 is closed. |
