<p>PURPOSE:To provide a method for treating hydrogen sulfide, capable of efficiently recovering sulfur and hydrogen from a hydrogen sulfide-containing gas in a closed system containing a by-produced sulfuric acid-reducing process, capable of reducing the consumption amount of the hydrogen, and thus reducing the cost of the treatment. CONSTITUTION:In this method for treating hydrogen sulfide to recover sulfur and hydrogen from a hydrogen sulfide-containing gas in a closed system by combining a hydrogen sulfide gas-absorbing and oxidizing process, a sulfur- separating process, an electrochemically regeneration treatment process, and a by-produced sulfuric acid-reducing process, a sulfuric acid-iron sulfate salt solution introduced into the by-produced sulfuric acid-reducing process is treated with hydrogen sulfide so as not to substantially contain trivalent iron (ferric) ions.</p> |
