PURPOSE:To protect a pressure sensor from corrosion due to sea water by providing a diaphragm made of anticorrosive material between the pressure sensor provided in a cooling water passage for measuring pressure of cooling water and the cooling water passage. CONSTITUTION:One end of a cooling water passage 7 provided inside of an outboard motor is a suction port of seawater and the other end thereof is a discharge port of seawater, and a water pump which pumps up seawater from the suction port is provided above the suction port. Also, a sensor unit 9 is mounted on top of the cooling water passage 7, and a pressure sensor 10 which measures pressure of cooling water is provided on a top face of the unit 9. The pressure sensor 10 is connected to a meter section 12 via a signal line 11. In such a structure, a diaphragm 13 made of an anticorrosive material is provided at a center of the sensor unit 9 to isolate the pressure sensor 10 from seawater so that cooling water does not touch the pressure sensor 10. Consequently, service life of the pressure sensor 10 is prolonged. |
