Movable shelving or cupboard units

The drive system is for movable shelving or cupboard units, eg. in an archive or big store. The units may be moved around on rails without the use of electric motors with all the attendant current supply and safety problems. There are two foot pedals (3) which are spring-loaded upwards and are connected to a drive shaft by simple linkages and freewheel units (2). One pedal drives the unit in one direction and the other pedal drives the unit in the return direction. A drive chain (5) connects the drive shaft to one of the flanged wheels running on a guide rail.
