4-Aminopiperidine cpds. of formula (I) are new: Q = a gp. of formula (i):R<1>-R<8> = H, 1-20C alkyl, 2-20C alkenyl, 3-8C cycloalkyl, 3-8C cycloalkenyl, phenyl, 7-20C alkylphenyl, 7-20C phenylalkyl, OH, halo, NO2, 1-20C alkoxy, phenoxy, amino, 1-20C alkylamino, phenylamino, 1-20C dialkylamino, phenyl(1-20C) alkylamino or diphenylamino, provided that R<1> and/or R<3> is halo and R<6>, R<7> and R<8> are not simultaneously H.
