PRODUCTION OF CLOTH HAVING HIGH STRETCHABILITY

PURPOSE:To obtain a cloth having high stretchability free from the loss of stretchability even under exposure of natural light for a long time, having brilliant colors and excellent in light-resistance by dyeing a cloth containing a polyether-ester elastic fiber and subsequently applying a specific ultraviolet absorbed. CONSTITUTION:A cloth containing a polyether-ester elastic fiber made of a block copolymer composed of hard segments of a polyester mainly containing polybutylene terephthalate and soft segments of a linear polyethylene glycol having molecular weight of 500-5000 is at first dyed and subsequently the dyed cloth is with a benzotriazole-based ultraviolet absorber and subjected to a heat treatment (e.g. at 140-170 deg.C) followed by washing to obtain the objective cloth excellent in light-resistance and having high stretchability. Thus, a dyed article having brilliant colors is obtained.
