SEALING PORTION STRUCTURE OF CRAWLER DRIVE SHAFT

PURPOSE:To provide a sealing portion structure of a crawler drive shaft which has an excellent sealing property by preventing abnormal wear of a portion where a dustproof plate makes sliding contact with an inner sealing part and a portion where the dustproof plate makes sliding contact with a crawler driving sprocket. CONSTITUTION:An oil seal 6 that hermetically seals the space between a drive shaft protecting cylinder 2 and a crawler drive shaft 3 comprises an outer sealing part 6a and an inner sealing part that makes sliding contact with the outer sealing part 6a. A crawler driving sprocket 9 that transmits power to the crawler is spline fitted into the crawler drive shaft 3. A dustproof plate 7 whose outer peripheral end is loosely fitted into the drive shaft protecting cylinder 2 and whose inner peripheral end is loosely fitted into the crawler drive shaft 3 to close the open end of the drive shaft protecting cylinder 2 is interposed between the inner sealing part of the oil seal 6 and the crawler driving sprocket 9. The dustproof plate 7 has a lock means 7c at its inner peripheral end to lock the dustproof plate 7 to the crawler drive shaft 3.
