NAVIGATION SYSTEM, ON-VEHICLE NAVIGATOR AND PORTABLE NAVIGATOR

PURPOSE:To connect a portable navigator and an on-vehicle navigator transmit and receive information and share a GPS receiver. CONSTITUTION:An on-vehicle navigator 100 having a map storing means 4 for storing a road map and a display 6 for showing the road map, a GPS receiver 11 for receiving a beam from a satellite and conducting GPS position measurement and a display 12 for showing the GPS position measurement result are provided and a portable navigator 200 connected to the navigator 100 through a communication wire 300 is equipped. Transmission and receiving of information are performed through the communication wire 300 between the on-vehicle navigator 100 and the portable navigator 200 and the display 6 shows a GPS position measurement result obtained from the portable navigator 200 on the road map.
