PURPOSE:To obtain a liquid crystal display device at low cost excellent in antidazzle property with a small number of assembling process. CONSTITUTION:This filter 10 consists of a polarizing plate 12 adhered to a color glass 11 having selectivity of wavelength of the transmittance. The liquid crystal display device has the filter 10 disposed on the observer side of a liquid crystal panel 50. The surface of the filter 10 on the observer side is treated to decrease reflection with an antireflection film 15 or the like. Light of wavelength necessary to display is transmitted by the color glass 11 but other wavelength region is absorbed so that the liquid crystal display device can be easily seen in a bright place without decreasing the contrast. With the antireflection film 15, reflection of light of the surface can be suppressed. Since the polarizing plate 12 necessary for the liquid crystal display is made in one body with the color glass 11, the number of parts to assemble the liquid crystal display device can be decreased. |
