Multi-zone drying process for timber - with continuous circulation of air in transport direction of introduced load

The process for drying timber in a multi-zone channel canal dryer (10) uses a canal (11) having at least two zones; a first (I) and a second (II) drying zone, each with its own fan (P1,P2) and heat exchanger (12) for transferring heat to the circulating air. A cold load (A1) is introduced into the first zone of the canal, and the air in both zones circulates in a direction opposing the transport direction (L1) of the loads (A1,A2...An) (as shown by arrows S1,E1).
