The blue fluorescent material composed of (Sra,Cab,Bac,Tmd)5(PO4)3Cl [0<=a<=2.0 mol, 0<=b<=0.5 mol, 0<=c<=0.5 mol, 0<=d<=0.1 mol is manufactured by mixing at most 0.1 mol thulium oxide (Tm2O3), at most 1.0 mol strontium hydrophosphate(SrHPO4), at most 0.5 mol calcium carbonate(CaCO3), at most 0.5 mol barium carbonate and at most 1.0 mol strontium chloride(SrCl2) in the ball mill, firing the mixture in the reduction atmosphere at 800-1400 deg.C. for 1-10 hr, and cooling, crushing and water cleaning it. The fluorescent material is used for lamps and optical instruments.
