Method for continuously processing liquid effluents from the agri-foodstuffs industry, and in particular for processing first and second carbonation slurries in the beet sugar industry, by horizontal non-intermittent filtration with an automatically replenished filter medium. The method enables sugar industry slurry processing without reducing plant output in the event of difficult purification adjustments (thawed beet, start-up), eliminates down time for cleaning the filter media, and provides higher quality filtered juices while reducing supervision and maintenance times. Said method is also suitable for processing first sludge and syrup in the beet sugar industry, processing purification juice and syrups in the cane sugar industry, processing brewing wort, and treating muddy water in the water treatment industry.
