发明名称 LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY ELEMENT
摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain a wide visual field angle free from gradation inversion and to make stripe lines invisible by arranging plural regions varying in orientation directions of liquid crystal molecules in such a manner that these regions are adjacent to each other via their s ides. CONSTITUTION:Arrows of TFTs 20 having gate lines 18 and signal lines 19 on a TFT substrate denote respective orientation directions and this display element is provided with the oriented regions varying by each one picture element with R, G, B as units. The respective orientation regions of the liquid crystal display element produced in such a manner have the orientation directions varying in the regions of vertical and lateral directions where the orientation directions are adjacent to each other via the sides. The uniform orientation of a 90 deg. twist is obtd. when the orientation of the liquid crystals of such element is investigated. The high-grade display nearly uniform from all bearings is obtd. if the element is driven. The visual angle in the vertical direction is widened greatly as compared with an ordinary TN type cell. The gradation inversion is hardly generated when the element is viewed from all the bearings. The good visual angle characteristics are thus obtd.
