PURPOSE:To provide a magnetization medium, a magnetic head for magnetization to obtain the magnetization medium, a magnetization method and a magnetizer which allows the obtaining of an effective output even when the linearity of a magnetizing surface deviates to an extent depending on the state of magnetization or fixing of the magnetization medium or an angle at which the magnetizing surface of the magnetization medium is opposed to an MR head is not in adjustment. CONSTITUTION:A groove 131a is formed at a magnetic gap G part on the tip face of a magnetic core 131 of a magnetic head 13 for magnetization with the shape of a cross section thereof presenting almost a circular arc corresponding to a lower half portion of a circle on the outer circumference of a magnetization medium 2. The part of the groove 131a is pressed onto the outer circumferential surface of the magnetization medium 2 and the head 13 is energized electrically in the opposite direction alternately moving the magnetization medium 2 by a specified distance relatively in one direction longitudinally to the head 13. This enables the magnetization of the medium 2 at a large angle of magnetization.
