<p>PURPOSE:To provide the information converter efficiently reducing the amount of processing of the format conversion of the information in performing the communication between dissimilar types to a level of practical use. CONSTITUTION:A semi-decoding means 110 reads code strings read out from a reading means 107 and decodes them to the coefficient matrix in the conversion area. The concrete decoding procedure is the recovery of the allocated code, the two-dimensional rearrangement, and the inverse quantization. A conversion means 112 converts the (m) coefficient matrix into (n) coefficient matrix (in this case, m,n=1,2,3...) in the conversion area. A re-encoding means 114 rearranges coefficient matrix to the one-dimensional coefficient string after the prescribed quantization of the coefficient matrix. Further, the code string performing the prescribed code allocation is generated. A decoding means 116 rearranges the code strings to the two-dimensional coefficient matrix after the prescribed decoding and the coefficient matrix obtained by performing the next prescribed inverse quantization is converted into the inverse eighth order two-dimensional discrete cosine. Thus, the digital picture data in the space area is generated in succession.</p> |
