The vehicle seat has a seat back (1), which is constructed on a frame (1-1). It carries a head rest (2), so that the front face (2-1) serves to support the neck of the user. The head rest is carried on at least one arm (3), which penetrates into the seat back. The support arm is designed and mounted so as to pivot around an axis (6-1), which is horizontal and roughly parallel to the front face of the head rest, and is situated within the seat back and carried by the seat frame. A spring (8) mounted locking mechanism (6-2 and 7-1) are provided to enable the arm to be locked into its desired rotated position.
