The rear swivel bearing (17) of the seat support (11) is mounted on the backrest support (18) between the backrest bearing (21) and backrest. The planes formed by the axes (I and II) of the front swivel bearings (12,13) of the seat support and intermediate attachments (6,9) of the bearing blocks (3,4) are displaceable by swivelling forwards the intermediate lever assembly (7) from a practically vertical position into a horizontal position which causes the seat or seat support to change its incline forwards by about 15 degs. to the horizontal. The intermediate lever assembly preferably comprises two tubes (8) connected together on their long sides and having at their side ends bearing pins (9,12) supporting rotatable bearing plates (6,14) which have bores to hold the pins. The bearing plates are mounted on the seat support and bearing block.
