Permanent way construction for track transportation systems

The construction method is based on a load-bearing slab of concrete or asphalt, in which the space between the sleeper blocks (2) and the space near to them, is then filled in with ballast. The load-bearing slab can have a rib (5), which does not completely fill the space between the sleepers. The slab can also be designed with at least one depression running parallel to the direction of the track. Roughening of the structure of the load-bearing slab is also considered.
