An apparatus for aseptically filling and sealing cans, comprising an empty can feed device (2), a can filling device (4), a lid dispensing device (6), a lid sensing device (8) combined with a lidless can discharge member (9), and a lid crimping device (16). Filling and lid dispensing are performed in a sterile enclosure separately from the crimping step.
