Weaving terry fabrics

A loom with separate weft insertion mechanisms is used to weave two or more fabrics (210, 212) simultaneously, at least one of the fabrics having a Terry construction. The reed (214) is kept perpendicular to the fabrics in the loose (B) as well as the fast position (A). Stitching yarns may be employed crossing between two ground fabrics produced simultaneously on the loom, and these stitching yarns may be cut on the loom to produce two separate fabrics. The Terry loops may be formed on one or both faces of one or both fabrics. The loom is preferably a shuttleless loom.
