PLANOGRAPHIC PRINTING PLATE MAKING METHOD

PURPOSE:To provide a planographic printing plate making device having a protective gum liquid processing section capable of ending drying of the protective gum liquid in a simple gum drying stage and preventing adhesion of the protective gum liquid to apparatus in the ensuing stages by suppressing unequal wringing in the peripheral end sides of the printing plate and more particularly eliminating the protective gum liquid remaining at the rear end of the printing plate in the protective gum liquid processing section for processing the planographic printing plate from which non-image parts are dissolved away by an alkaline processing liquid by applying the protective gum liquid thereon while transporting the printing plate with rolls. CONSTITUTION:The protective gum liquid processing section of the planographic printing plate making device has at least a protective gum liquid applying roll 2 which transports the planographic printing plate and applies and spreads the protective gum liquid on the plate surface thereof, a liquid metering roll 17 which exists just before the plate transporting direction of this roll 2 and controls the amt. of the protective gum liquid applied to the planographic printing plate by coming into contact with part of the outer periphery of the roll, a protective gum liquid supplying means 20 which supplies the protective gum liquid to the part where both rolls come into contact and excess liquid absorbent rolls 8, 9 which are installed behind the protective gum liquid applying roll 2 and of which the outer peripheral surface is made of a hydrophilic material having porosity >=70%.
