PURPOSE:To uniformly thaw frozen and ground fish meat in a short time by sandwiching the frozen and ground fish meat between electrode plates and then passing an electric current therethrough. CONSTITUTION:This method for thawing frozen and ground fish meat is to sandwich the frozen and ground fish meat between electrode plates 2, pass a current from a power source 3 through the frozen and ground fish meat, generate heat in the frozen and ground fish meat itself by the electrical resistance possessed by the frozen and ground fish meat and thaw the frozen and ground fish meat. The current may be a DC or an AC current; however, the AC current is preferably used. The thawing can be carried out in a desired time by regulating the frequency and voltage according to the electric conductivity of the frozen and ground fish meat. |
