<p>PURPOSE:To provide an armor rod remover which can remove the armor rod on a cable without doing external damage to a cable strand and is excellent in work efficiency too CONSTITUTION:A rod remover is equipped with a half tapered sleeve 3 to be set freely on a cable C and a means for thrusting this tapered sleeve 3 forward in the axial direction of the cable, and the taper section 32 of the tapered sleeve 3 is made to be capable of getting under the armor rod R on the cable C. As the thrusting means, a male member 1 in the shape of half tube to be fixed around the cable C and a female member 2 in the shape of a half tube to be screwed on this female screw member 1 are used. The tapered sleeve 3 is made to range from the end in axial direction of the female member 2, whereby rotating the female member 2 by a wrench with a key will generate thrust in the axial direction of the male member 1, that is, in the axial direction of the cable, with which the tapered sleeve 3 will be thrusted forward in axial direction to the cable C, and the top of the tapered part will get under the armor rod R on the cable C, and the armor rod R will be pulled off the end.</p> |
