The process which is the subject of the invention aims to modify or replace certain aspects of the moving image with different purposes and to obtain a sequence of images so that the evolution of the image of the moving object and the image to be inserted is simultaneous. The process is based on having reference points or a reference zone 4 in the moving object 2, in taking images using a camera 3, in measuring the distance between the camera 3 and the moving object 2 and in having the image to be inserted stored with reference points homologous with those of the moving object. These data are used to initiate an operating sequence which, in short, consists in defining the paths the reference points of the images to be inserted have to describe in order to obtain this deformed image and in merging it with the original image, all this being carried out automatically. <IMAGE>
