The microphone (10) is pivotable on top of the compartment (12) in which the cassette and its drive (11) are concealed by a cover (16). A standard cassette is inserted in a position transverse to the handle (14), which is of pistol-grip type with a playback button (20) in the index finger recess. An audio head (18) is contained in the end of the handle where it enters the cassette compartment. A recording button (22) and a knurled-disc vol. control (24) are operable by the thumb.
