PURPOSE:To perform natural and appropriate translation by omitting unnecessary words and generating translated sentences. CONSTITUTION:A translation condition setting part 5 holds information on a sentence is to be translated under what condition the translation is performed, a sentence generation part 3 performs generation based on an analyzed result and sends the generated result to an omission control part 6 and the omission control part 6 refers to an omission dictionary 7 with the word of the generated result sent from the sentence generation part 3 as a key. When a coincident omission candidate word is present inside the omission dictionary, the omission control part 6 investigates whether or not the element of the value of the omission dictionary 7 coincides with the grammatical element of the word being the generated result, whether or not a corresponding expression is present in the generated result and whether or not translation conditions coincide with the value of the translation condition setting part 5. When they are all true, the omission control part 6 defines that the omission candidate word can be omitted and sends the result to the sentence generation part 3. The sentence generation part 3 omits the word sent from the omission control part 6, performs the generation and sends the generated result to a sentence output part 4. |
