The invention allows sharing of an application in a conference system independently of whether the application is started or is under execution in the same state. When an event is received by a reception section 60B (222), a processing section 54B references to a conference table 66B from the parameter of the event and also references a callback routine table 64B to start a callback routine corresponding to an event including a common application. The callback routine starts a common editor (226), performs processing (230) in which the state of the common editor coincides with the state of the common editor of another user when reception of transfer data to be shared sent from another user terminates, and completes processing of a conference event after the former processing terminates (232). <IMAGE>
