<p>PURPOSE:To stabilize valve timing control, and concurrently prevent lubricating performance at the sliding sections of an engine from being degraded. CONSTITUTION:It is assumed that the transformation of relative phase in rotation between a sprocket 1 and a cam shaft 2 is so constituted as to be made by letting a cylindrical gear 12 be moved by means of hydraulic pressure fed to a pressure chamber 13 via an oil feed passage 18. A relief valve 34 which properly controls the pressure of working oil to be fed to the pressure chamber 13 with pressure from an oil pump 17, is provided for the upstream side of the oil feed passage 18, and working oil in no use is fed to the respective sliding sections of an engine.</p> |
