PURPOSE:To seal an opening rim when objects to be packed which are different in length are housed and sealed by detecting passage timing of a front end of the object to calculate a position of the opening rim of a bag and controlling a speed of a chain conveyer. CONSTITUTION:An object 20 to be packed is received in a bag 19 and moved on a first conveyer 22 and a second conveyer 23. When a second sensor 25 detects a tip of the object 20, a controller calculates signals from a first sensor 18 and the second sensor to calculate a length of the object 20. Further, the controller accelerates a motor 78 so that a tip of a spatula 58 comes as close to the object 20 as possible according to the length of the object 20, and inserts the spatula 58 into an opening rim. Then the bag 19 is moved along a transportation route, pressing force is applied to the spatula 58 by a cam lever to extend the spatula 58 in a lateral. direction, and the opening rim of the bag 19 is sealed while it is strained. Thus sealing is allowed while occurrence of wrinkles at the opening rim is prevented. |
