CERAMIC SCINTILLATOR AND X-RAY DETECTOR

PURPOSE:To provide a scintillator reduced in afterglow and radiation degradation without deteriorating the luminous intensity and an X-ray detector, having high sensitivity and a slight artifact and using the scintillator. CONSTITUTION:This scintillator 1 is a rare earth oxysulfide polycrystalline sintered compact, activated with praseodymium and regulated by the peak intensity at about 270K and a luminous spectrum at about 410K of thermal luminescence. The X-ray detector is obtained by optically bonding the scintillator 1 to a photodiode 2.
