The coil casing (11) includes a cavity (12), accommodating the coil terminal connector(s) (13), and closed by an integrally moulded cover incorporating shrouded sockets (18) for the plug leads. A generally cylindrical steel peg contact (14) for the lead, in the socket base, protrudes (17) into the cavity to receive the coil connector (13). The latter, fabricated from thin flat brass strip, is notched at the end to form two parallel fingers (22) whose separation is slightly less than the diameter of the peg within an annular groove (19), near the end. A good contact is obtained by press-fitting the fingers over the reduced diameter in the groove. Opt., the groove has inclined sides, giving V-section gripped by the bifurcated connector.
