<p>A method of harnessing the energy of moving water which comprises at least one lock (8) containing residual water to float a pontoon (3); the lock (8) being fitted with a controlled inlet gate at one end to allow entry of water and a controlled outlet gate at the other to allow exit of water; the pontoon (3) providing a predetermined lift or upward thrust pressure when water enters the lock (8) and having connecting rods (6) to activate plungers (9) in a number of associated, preferably double-acting, cylinders (1) to pressurize fluid, which activates a hydraulic turbine to drive a generator.</p> |
