<p>A cleaning apparatus (10) for cleaning the burning chambers (BC) of engines to remove carbon monoxide deposits and other accumulated residue therefrom. The apparatus (10) includes a holding tank (14) for containing a predetermined amount of cleaning solvent, a nozzle (20) having a nozzle tip (22) with a discharge outlet (24) and a first pump (50) for transferring solvent under pressure from the holding tank (14) for discharge from the outlet (24) into the burning chamber (BC). A return line (60) connects between the inlet (26) of the nozzle (20) and the holding tank (14) and includes a second pump (70) connected in-line for creating a suction at the inlet (26) causing solvent to be transferred back to the holding tank (14). An air supply line (84) from a compressor (80) connects to the solvent supply line (40) via a three-way valve (86) for selective discharge of pressurized air into the burning chamber (BC) to facilitate drying thereof after washing with the solvent.</p> |
