Method and device of automatically programming a television or video tape recorder tuner using data transmitted by ground, cable or satellite waves. The method involves the transmission of a number of channel tables, each corresponding to a transmitter, using the CEEFAX system. The television or video tape recorder records the table corresponding to the postal code previously entered by the user, and then automatically programmes the tuner. The present invention is applicable to all types of standards (PAL, PAL+, SECAM; NTSC, D2MAC, HDMAC, digital standards and the like) and to all types of signal systems transmitted with the video signals. |
