For optical information transmission, opto-electronic converter modules are used which are used as transmitting or receiving modules. In addition to other electrical components, the converter modules contain, in particular, an arrangement having a semiconductor laser (5) which is used either as a transmitter or as a receiver. An arrangement is created by means of the invention which has a support consisting of ceramic, preferably a block (1) of aluminium nitride. In this case, the supply leads are micro-striplines (2-4). This arrangement is suitable for transmission in the GHz band.
