PURPOSE:To provide the automatic gain control amplifier able to provide an output of an audio signal at a prescribed stable level without losing natural intonation of a voice to the utmost. CONSTITUTION:When a signal detection section 12 detects an input signal, a gain control section 13 controls sequentially a variable gain amplifier section 12 so that the output has a prescribed level and holds a gain when the input signal is detected even if the gain is decreased at a non-signal and operates the amplifier section 11 at the held gain and controls the gain by using a recorded value as an initial value at a succeeding rising of a voice signal. Thus, the rising time of the voice signal is remarkably reduced without changing the time constant of gain control. |
