An electrical connector assembly comprises two insulating blocks 32 and 34 having a series of apertures passing through them and carrying channel-shaped contacts, and a third insulating block 42 which carries in through apertures resilient single-blade double-ended contacts which are biased against a dividing wall 49 between the apertures. When the blocks 32 and 34 are mated with the block 44, the webs of the channel-shaped contacts pass between the spring contacts in the block 44 and the wall 49. In a modification, Fig. 5 (not shown), a metal U-shaped clip may be passed over one end of the wall 49 to interconnect adjacent spring contacts and an insulating insert may be fixed in place of one of the contacts in the insulating block that engages that end of the block 44. When the blocks are then connected together, the connection between adjacent spring contacts formed by the U-shaped clip is broken and a new circuit with the channel-shaped contacts established.</p> |
