PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of carrier in a photoreceptive film in a destaticizing stage and to improve image quality by selecting the wavelength of light emitted from the light source of a destaticizing means, which irradiates the photoreceptive film with the light, from a specified wavelength range. CONSTITUTION:A main charger 14 uniformly applies the desired amount of charge to a monolayer type organic photoreceptive film 12 formed on the surface of a photoreceptive drum 13, and an optical device 15 being an exposure means forms an electrostatic latent image by exposing the photoreceptive film 12. The electrostatic latent image is developed with toner by a developing device 16 and the toner image is transferred to recording paper 17 by a transfer device 18. A destaticizing lamp 20 such as a halogen lamp, etc., removes residual charge on the drum 13. The wavelength of the light emitted from the lamp 20 is selected from the wavelength range in half band width of maximum absorbance in the absorbance characteristic of the photoreceptive film 12 of the drum 13 or a charge generating material included in the photoreceptive film. It is desirable that the light emitted from the lamp 20 is monochromatic light. |
