PURPOSE:To prevent the image quality and image density from being deteriorated by providing a conducting member arranged on the upstream side of a developer restricting member near the contact section between the surface of a developer carrier and the developer restricting member. CONSTITUTION:A brush 28 is arranged on the developer conveyance upstream side of an elastic blade 22 near the contact section between a development roller 18 and the elastic blade 22. The brush 28 is formed into a dog-legged cross section, it is held by a conducting holder, and it is arranged nearly in parallel with the elastic blade 22, i.e., in parallel with the axial direction of the development roller 18. One end of the holder is supported on a blade support member 23. The distance between the tip section of the brush 28 and the surface of the development roller 18 near the contact section between the elastic blade 22 and the development roller 18 is set to 1mm, for example. The developer layer can be formed into a thin layer, and the coagulation of a developer 16 due to over-electrification can be prevented. |
