Moisturising system especially for offset rotary printing press

The continuous strip of printing paper is first thoroughly dried, then re-moistened in a controlled manner before passing to cooling rollers. The colour-printed paper (2) from the press is fed into a drying chamber (1) which it leaves at a temperature in excess of 100 deg C. The colour film is then fixed by passing through cooling rollers (8-11) held at reducing temperatures. The optimum level of humidity required for the process is provided by a re-moisturising chamber (5) containing spray jets (6), injecting atomised water onto both sides of the paper. Further jets (7) are provided between the rollers (8, 9).
