Joining optical glass parts

Process for joining optical glass building parts comprises: (a) finishing at least 2 parts each having a pair of surfaces facing each other; (b) placing each part in a bath of ultra-pure water for several hours; (c) joining the parts with the surfaces to be welded after storing in the ultra-pure water, and removing from the bath; and (d) placing the joined parts in an oven for several hours, heating, keeping at a temp. and then cooling. The temp. is below the transformation point of both materials. The optical parts are also claimed.
