A turret head comprises a housing 2, to be fitted to a drilling machine spindle 1, a member 6 carrying tool spindles 16, the member being indexable about a pin 4, and a friction wheel 27 for connecting to friction discs 17 on the spindles, to thus transfer the rotation of spindle 1 to spindles 16. A gear 21 fixed to spindle 1 drives the spindle 23 of wheel 27 through a gear 25, and spindle 23 is axially movable to engage wheel 27 with a disc 17 against spring pressure, by an electro-magnet 22. A pin 38 is slidable against a spring 41, and a collar 42, on the pin co-operates with a pivoting lever 44 connected to a peg 47, which co-operates with indexing holes in member 6. A rod 52 cooperates with a member 54 which pivots with a bolt 53, so that a pawl 55 fastened to the bolt actuates a ratchet 56, which then rotates bevel gears 57, 5, to thus index member 6.</p> |
