Sulphonamides of formula (I) and their non-toxic salts are new. A = a gp. of formula; R1 = H, 1-7C alkyl, (opt. substd. by one or more methyl, phenyl, pyridyl, or thienyl gps., themselves opt. substd. by one or more halogens or hydroxy), alkenyl or alkynyl of 3-7C; D = satd. hydrocarbon of 2-6C interrupted by one or more O or S atoms or cyclopropane, or substd. by gem dimethyl, or a gp.. of formula (viii) - (x).
