PURPOSE:To make an image display on the basis of print format information wherein dead characters and dead composite characters are set. CONSTITUTION:When a dead character key for 'umlaut' is operated (S26: Yes) while a dead composite character flag is not set (S25: No), a dead character composition flag is set (S30) and the inputted dead character code of 'umlaut' is stored at an input position of a text memory (S31). Then dot image data for display including the dot pattern data of the dead character modified with a set font and set character size are displayed on a display under print image display processing control of S29. Then when a character key for a character which can be put together with the dead character (S25: Yes, S32: No), the dead composite character code is stored in the text memory (S33) instead of the dead character code. |
