<p>PURPOSE:To improve the control accuracy of tension between stands by a tension estimation equation by accurately finding the influence coefficient of the tension included in the tension estimation equation. CONSTITUTION:In the tension control method of a continuous rolling mill which controls by estimating the tension between an i-th stand and an (i+1)th stand by using the tension estimation expression including the rolling load Pi, the rolling torque Gi of the i-th stand, and the influence coefficients alphai, betai, gammai, and deltai of forward/backward tension for them, the influence coefficients of the forward/backward tension for the rolling load and the rolling torque are calculated by applying a tension observed value to equations I, II including a load PiO, torque GiO, forward tension Ti, and backward tension Ti-1 when no tension is applied.
