PURPOSE:To obtain a foamable polyethylene composition giving a foam which has uniform cells, a high expansion ratio, and excellent resilience. CONSTITUTION:This composition comprises 100 pts.wt. powder of an ethylene copolymer containing glycidyl groups, 0.1-30 pts.wt. carboxylic acid (derivative) containing two or more carboxyl groups and having a mol.wt. of 1,500 or higher, and 0.1-20 pts.wt. thermally decomposable foaming agent. The copolymer is made up of 20-99.9wt.% ethylene units 0.1-30wt.% units derived from a glycidyl ester of an unsaturated carboxylic acid or from an unsaturated glycidyl ether, and 0-50wt.% units derived from an unsaturated carboxylic ester other than a glycidyl ester. |
