Ketone-aldehyde resins with wide compatibility, process for their preparation, and their use

In ketone-aldehyde resins (I) based on cycloaliphatic ketones (II) and aliphatic aldehydes (III), (a) 40-100 mole-% of all (II) comprises mono- or poly-(1-8 C)-alkyl-substd. cyclohexanone(s) (IIA); (b) the amt. of (III) is 0.8-2.0 mole/mole (II); and (c) 0-60 mole% of all (II) comprise other ketone(s) (IIB) with opts. substd. phenols and/or aromatic hydrocarbyl gps. and opt. phenols and/or urea (derivs.). Also claimed are (I) obtd. by condensation of the specified amts. of (IIA), (III), (IIB) and opt. phenols and/or urea (derivs.) in the presence of alkaline catalysts.
