An organic perester or acyl peroxide is purified by contacting said peroxide with ammonia. Liquid peroxides may be purified with or without the addition of a water-immiscible organic solvent but solid peroxides should be dissolved in said solvent. In a preferred process the peroxide is shaken in aqueous ammonia, separated therefrom, washed with water and dried. Specification 901,041 is referred to. |
