PURPOSE: To improve the productivity of color editing and editing amount in a picture processing system. CONSTITUTION: The system color of a prescribed set is given. The color picture element exponent value of a picture to be edited is stored in a picture element buffer 61. A color look up register bank 47 stores a color value in a prescribed register for system color. The respective picture element buffer exponent values correspond to the look up register having a special color value. Namely, the picture is displayed by designating the picture element of the color register bank and transmitting it to the color signal input of a display. A user designates the desired display color and corrects the area of the display picture. Picture element position data corresponding to the designated color is detected. The values of hue, saturation and brightness(HSB) are decided from the stored color value against the designated picture element. A minimum range is decided for respective HSB values. A previously selected color compiling operation is executed on the picture element having the color corresponding to the HSB values in the minimum range. |
